How To Play Baccarat
Hi, I'm Brian from Casino Rama Resort and I'm here today to teach you baccarat.
In this example we are going to use a mini-bac table.
The game of baccarat is essentially the same, whether you play ata mini-bac table or in the VIP room on a full baccarat table.
The minimums inthe high limit room are generally $100 on a full baccarat table, but on the floorour mini-bac tables are usually $25 minimum.
I'm going to demonstrate now a few hands and go through how the cards work and how the totals go.
When you come to a tableyou can present your cash to the dealer keeping in mind that the dealer cannottake anything from your hand, so you're going to have to set your cash on thetable.
So you have two options when playingbaccarat.
You can bet on either the player or the banker.
It doesn't meanthat I'm the banker and you're the player, it's just a name from one side tothe other.
The object of the game is to get as close to nine with your cardswithout going over.
I'm gonna demonstrate what that means.
We're gonna put a bet on the banker and a bet on the player.
The dealer will call no more bets and we'lldraw out the cards.
In this case the player has nine, which is the best hand that you can get and the banker has six.
So if at any point in time the player orthe banker has an eight or a nine, it's called a natural and no more cards willbe drawn.
So in this case the player wins natural nine over six.
We'll take thelosing bank bets and we will pay all the player bets.
All bets on the player are paidone to one.
The dealer would gather up the cards andwe'll start a new hand.
Take your chips back and you can place another bet.
Onceagain let's bet on the player and one on the banker.
We also have a few additionalbets here.
There is the tie bet: If the total ends up being the same for theplayer and the banker it's a tie and neither the player or the banker lose, nor do they win.
But it pays eight to one for the tie.
You can also bet onwhether there will be a pair on the player and a pair on the banker.
If bothof the first two cards for the player are a pair, two fives, two sixes, twoqueens, or the banker are a pair, it would pay eleven to one.
So let's go ahead andput a couple bets on the tie and the banker and player pair.
No more bets.
Okay in this case the player has a 4 anda 6.
The object is to go as close to 9 as you can and when you go over 9 the scoreresets at 0 and if you have a two-digit number when you add them up, you'llactually drop off the first digit.
So in this case the player has 10, which inbaccarat is 0.
Or baccarat, another name for 0.
The banker has 2 Queens over here, which is 20 also known as baccarat, 0.
So right now, we have a 0-0 tie.
There's more cards to come.
The dealer will decide based on a predetermined list of ruleswhen they draw a third card for the player, or a third card for the banker.
The dealer will take care of all of that for you.
If you want to see a list of therules as to when a player or a banker draws a third card, speak to thesupervisor and they'll give you a chart to let you know, so you can follow alongand see when you're supposed to draw the extra cards.
In this case because boththe player and the banker have baccarat, or 0, they're both going to get anadditional card.
So let's see what happens.
Player increases to 4 and thebanker increases to 6.
So in this case the banker wins 6 over 4.
We're gonnatake the losing player bet and look what else we had here, a pair of Queens, so wehave a banker pair.
The banker won 6 over 4, so we're gonna go ahead and pay the bank bets.
Because the banker has a better chance at winning a slightly higher edge allwinning bank bets will pay a 5% Commission.
In this case $200 will pay$10.
And of course, our banker pair pays 11 to 1.
5 dollars pays55 dollars.
And we're all set for another hand andthat is how you play baccarat.
